Fra Beecher is an artist and life model, and co-founder of United Models Life Drawing CIC.

Through her project, Body of Work (2018-2020), Fra challenges the misconception that female life models are passive objects.

Fra writes about her experiences as a life model and facilitator. She has published an article in The Everyday Magazine (Working from Home; Perspectives of a Life Model) and presented a paper at The Courtauld's Pose, Power, Practice: New Perspectives on Life Drawing conference (The Body, Captured: Photography and the Life Room).

During a residency and exhibition at The Launderette, 'Bodies of Water' (2025), Fra facilitated life drawing, collage and writing workshops with communities in Bristol - inviting them to share in her practice, experiment with new processes such as cyanotypes and watergrams, and explore their relationships to water. Alongside the programme of events, Fra made and displayed new works exploring the physical, emotional and psychological experience of wild swimming through photography, writing, drawing and sculpture.

Community and collaboration are important aspects of Fra’s practice. She works with creatives across disciplines to create workshops and artworks.
